Black Watch Great Kilt – Traditional Feileadh Mor | 13oz Acrylic Wool

The Great Kilt — known in Scottish Gaelic as the Feileadh Mor — is the original Highland garment, worn by clansmen since the early 1600s for both mobility and protection against the elements. Unlike the modern knee-length kilt, the Great Kilt is a single long length of tartan, pleated and belted at the waist, with the remaining fabric draped over the shoulder for warmth and freedom of movement.

Our Black Watch Great Kilt is handmade from 13oz acrylic wool for a durable, comfortable wear that holds its pleats and color through repeated use. To make dressing simple, ours comes with cheater pleats already sewn in — no pleating skill required — while still delivering the authentic, sweeping look seen at Highland games, historical reenactments, and formal Scottish events.

Available in 4 to 10 yards to suit a range of waist sizes, and in 50+ tartan options if you'd like a different clan or regimental pattern instead of Black Watch.

Sizing Guide

• 4–5 Yards: waist up to 34"–42"
• 6 Yards: waist up to 40"–48"
• 7 Yards: waist up to 46"–54"
• 8 Yards: waist up to 52"–60"
• 9–10 Yards: waist up to 58"–72"

For the most accurate fit, measure your natural waist the way you would for trousers, and measure length from the waist to the mid-knee.
