About the Craig Tartan
The Craig tartan was designed by MacGregor Hastie in 1957 to give the Craig family — one of Scotland's most widespread surnames — their own distinctive clan tartan. The pattern draws inspiration from the natural tones of Scottish crags and rocks, featuring earthy greens, blues, and grey tones, with the grey originally flecked to represent granite. It is a tartan of strength, heritage, and proud Scottish identity.
Perfect For
- Scottish weddings and formal Highland dress occasions
- Highland games and clan gatherings
- Burns Night suppers and St Andrew's Day celebrations
- Groomsmen and wedding party outfits
- Heritage events and cultural festivals
How to Measure for Your Kilt
Kilts are worn at the navel (belly button), not at the trouser waist. Please measure:
- Waist: Around your natural waist at belly button height (2–4 inches larger than your trouser size)
- Seat: Around the fullest part of your hips/seat
- Length: From belly button down to the top of the knee
Do not use your regular jeans or trouser size — kilt sizing is different.
